The Journey That Lead Me Here
There’s a moment in travel that most people miss. It might be the quiet tension of watching wildlife move through the landscape or the first bite of a meal that could only exist in that exact place. It’s not something you plan for but stumble into and once you experience it, you realize this is what travel is supposed to feel like.
After traveling to over 40 countries with my wife, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for places where wildlife is still wild, landscapes feel untouched, and food is deeply connected to local culture.
Some of my most memorable moments didn’t happen at all-inclusive resorts, but in places far less travelled. Standing side-by-side with a North Korean soldier at the border; Watching harpy eagles feed deep in the remote jungles of the Darién rainforest; Dining in one of the world’s top restaurants inside a converted church in Belgium. These are the kinds of experiences that stay with you.
Before starting this blog, I built an award-winning wedding photography / photo booth business and later ran an award-winning chocolate company—both of which shaped how I travel this world.
Dinner With Bears isn’t just a name – it’s an invitation. It captures the thrill of coming face-to-face with the wild, the joy of sharing unforgettable meals in unexpected places, and the stories that unfold when you travel beyond the ordinary.
My goal for Dinner With Bears is to help you move beyond typical travel and discover experiences that feel real, immersive, and unforgettable.
Because the best journeys don’t just take you somewhere new – they become stories worth telling.
